Summer is just around the corner! temps are starting to rise, pool is now open, beach trips are being booked AND outfits are being planned!!

one of my favorite swim and beachwear brands sent me some looks to try and style and if you're looking to step up your swimwear game, check out Agua Bendita.

known for their unique prints and designs with hand made details this Colombian woman owned brand, founded by two best friends in 2003 is one to try. So I went with 3 different styles; a one piece, high waisted bottoms and a classic triangle which I always say is my tanning cut lol. Paired with matching pareos/sarong and a long linen button down and done.

I know a lot of times we as ourselves if spending more on swimwear is actually worth it, well let me share my experience (cracks and stretches fingers*) I grew up in the water and basically on boats, beach, pool, open sea you name it, and I have to admit that the suits that have survived through the years and have been put to the test and then some are so who specialize in swimwear and prioritize materials, Agua Bendita is one of those brands. I do believe we need to have at least one good swimwear piece to last. ok ok, and take care of them! my biggest tip to care for your suits and how I make mine last, always rinse them off after the pool, make sure you wash off the chlorine and pools chemicals, it will prolong the fabric and colors through time, same for beach and sea water, always rinse off!. My tricks is even if I can rinse off by the pool or beach with a whose or outdoor shower, I always wash them in the shower with me once I take them off, you can do this at the sink and hand wash them too, and then hang to dry in the shower (this is how I do it)

NEVER put a suit in the washer and more importantly NEVER EVER put it in the dryer! (dryer heat can and will mess up the fabric especially the elastic) I have suits from 15 years ago (no joke) the fit might not be my fave right now 15 years older lol but they're still like new! Another tip is always make sure they are completely dry before storing (I did ruin a bikini like this once)

Creo que la pregunta más común es si vale la pena gastar y pagar por un traje caro, y como alguien que creció en el mar y puso a prueba muchos trajes de baño. Vale la pena pagar por tarjes de marcas que se especializan en ropa de playa y que usan materiales de calidad, Agua Bendita es una de esas marcas. Son piezas que siempre y cuando las cuides como se deben te van a durar muchos años, la ropa jamás debería de ser desechable y para eso a veces (si se puede) debemos invertir in poco más y también cuidarlos.

Como lavar y cuidar tus trajes: aquí te va mi tip de como cuido mis trajes: siempre enjuagarlos con agua "dulce" o limpia después de uso. siempre enjuaga tu traje cuando ya te salgas de la alberca para quitarle el cloro y otros químicos que son normales en albercas, igual cuando nadas en el mar ya después de terminar tus aventuras de sirenita enjuaga bien tu traje ya sea con manguera o la regadera de exterior, enjuagar el agua de mar. siempre hago esto y después ya que regreso a mi casa o cuarto de hotel los lavo en la regadera o lavabo, y los cuelgo a que se sequen. siempre lava tus trajes a mano JAMAS los metas a la lavadora que puedes maltratar el material, especialmente si tiene bordados y detalles, pero lo más importante JAMAS, PERO JAMAS los eches en la secadora, el calor de la secadora puede dañar por completo el material y hasta quemar el elástico de los trajes. Tengo años cuidando mis trajes así y fuera de broma tengo todavía trajes de hace más de 15 años (acepto que a lo mejor ya no me gusta cómo me queda el corte jajá) pero se ven como nuevos. Otro tip nunca los guardes húmedos, si eche a perder un bikini así.
