Dior Haute Couture SS21: Recap

And so the world of couture arrives to us virtually, Maria Grazia Chiuri (creative director of Dior) is no stranger to great shows and story telling but with the world going full virtual comes the magic of what i'm calling fashion movies, and making it all available even in the furthest corner of the world. Ok, enough about virtual worlds because we're all living in one lol and down to the fashion.

Haute Couture (HC) is defined by pieces that are all made by hand start to finish, with the most luxurious fabrics, usually pieces take longer to make, making collections a lot smaller than RTW but a lot more special (with a bang hehe) .

and I think that Dior's SS21 theme blends so well with HC. The inspiration was Tarot, and the mystical life behind tarots gave way to dream like luscious fabrics and glittering embroideries. Mixing sleek tailoring and dream-like eveningwear. For me it felt like a mix between a fairytale and a hint of spookiness (in a good way) giving way to a little mystery. Brought to life at Dior's 'Le Chateau du Tarot" directed by Matteo Garrone. It's not the first time Dior has drawn inspiration from the Tarot world. But as you may know I am a sucker for dream like dresses the volume, the head pieces the regal atmosphere. This is why i've been a fan of Dior for so long they do both, capture your dreams with fairytale dresses (true works of art) but also allows you to dream in everyday suits, skirts and jackets.

Actually a little unknown or known fact lol is that Monsieur Dior's life was extremely influenced by superstitious beliefs and the world of divinatory Arts. This collection carried all the colors and symbols of a classic Tarot deck (lots of gold and rusty colors ... my favorite!) ok enough of that down to my favorite looks from the show: For me this collection is the perfect blend of magic real, royalty and the tailored silhouettes that we all dream of.

Y es asi como el mundo de la alta costura cobra vida virtualmente. Maria Grazia Chiuri no es nueva en cuanto a logras shows y desfiles increibles y lograr transmitir una historia con sus diseños e ideas. Pero con nuestra nueva realidad de vivir mas en un mundo virtual llega las peliculas de arte y moda. una nueva forma de presentar las colecciones. Pero esto es algo bueno! cada dia parte del mundo de la moda y mas de la alta costura es cada vez mas accesible sin importar en que parte del mundo te encuentres. Es por eso que shows como este de Dior Haute Couture ss21 es tan importante. Es un super paso a nuestro nuevo mundo.

Si tienes duda de que exactamente es Alta Costura (AC) y que lo diferencia al resto de las colecciones, bueno pues para que una pieza se considere alta costura es algo que es 100% elaborado de principio a fin a mano (sin trampa) y con materiales mas lujosos e unicos. Estas colecciones tardan mucho mas en elaborarse y por lo general son menos piezas (por mucho) que el ready to wear. Creo que tambien en esta ocasion el Tema del show "Le chateau du Tarot" - El castillo de Tarot - es una mezcla idonea. El misterio de la magia y el tarotismo le dio vida una coleccion con aires de realeza, cuento de hadas y los cortes clasicos de los trajes de Dior, todo en uno.

Y no es la primera vez que Dior se inspira en el misterio del tarot, el Mismo Christian Dior era una persona muy supersticiosa que se infleunciaba mucho en estos simbolizmos. Y fascinada por la Novela de Italo Calvino " El castillo de destinos cruzados" Chiuri se inspiro en las cartas de Tarot de Visconti-Sforza, incluyendo sus tonos dorados, neutros y ocre. Ya saben en mi mero mole jaja.

Bueno ya mejor me cayo 😂 y les comparto mis looks favoritos del show! mas que nada ame la mezcla de todo, la elegancia de los vestidos, los accesorios y tocados.y obvio los trajes, es por esto que siempre he sido muy fan de Dior. te deja soñar con vestidos de princesa mientras te viste tambien para videa diaria.
