Caribbean Summer: Baha Mar
I am currently on denial that our Bahamas vacation is over, I was looking for any excuse possible to stay a bit longer. Last week we took a little summer vacation to the Bahamas, to a new development called Baha Mar in Nassau. This was our first time in The Bahamas in general, and I promise you, not going to our last. If you know a little bit about me you’ll have noticed im a mix between Ariel (The little Mermaid) and Moana, all in one!
So this place was amazing for me!
What is it? Baha Mar is a Resort complex formed by three hotel, Grand Hyatt, SLS, and The Rosewood, they all share the common areas, pool, beach, restaurants, casino, etc. This was very well planned instead of making another massive development like Atlantis, they decided to pair up 3 different styles of hotels. Grand Hyatt is the largest one, and it’s the more family and budget friendly, SLS is a very good mid-point and Rosewood is the high end. The perfect is the mix.
Food: They have 19 restaurants (I think) and most of them are renowned names and chefs! Another good thing is most restaurants are room charge only, meaning they really do respect the guests and is never packed. (still if you’re going in peak season I would make reservations)
Where we ate:
Breakfast: The Palms, cute and by the pool.
Lunch: at the pool and we did try Sandy Dogs, hot dog food truck and the beach.
Dinner #1: Katsuya, sushi, so good and a bit upscale
Dinner #2: Swimming Pig; refined pub style food, very good and it’s one of the restaurants that do not require room charge.
Dinner #3: F’ilia; upscale Italian by Michael Schwartz.
Activities: Where do I even start! To begin with they have 11 pools, so you’ll always find the perfect one, beach, activities: paddle boards, kayaks, jetskis, and you can also book boat tours to neighboring islands. We actually wanted to go to the Exumas where they have the swimming pigs, but the only tour we found was a day long trip, and since it was our first time there we decided to soak in everything the hotel has to offer. Definitely doing it on our next visit … Yep already planning it lol. Instead we visited the Sanctuary (inside the hotel) where you can hang with nurse sharks, sting rays and sea turtles.
For us tennis and golf fans, don’t worry they’ve also got us covered.
We are beyond grateful for this trip, Bahamas has been on my travel list for some time, and to have been able to go with Arturo was a dream come true (okay im getting all mushy here!) Thank you so much to the entire Baha Mar team for the amazing stay! Can’t wait to go back (sooner rather than later!)
