So, the madness known as fashion month has come to an end, and like always going out with a bang by closing in Paris. Which let’s face it’s the fan (and designer) favorite and with good reason! Although Milan is not far behind, labels and designers go full out when it comes to Paris, So I’ve decided to do a quick recap on a couple of my favorite shows which were Louis Vuitton, Dior, Gucci, and of course Chanel.
LV is one of my favorites because the collection is as much a thrill to watch as is the surprise of the location and stage, this year was no exception! I mean closing down the Louvre and having the girls strut besides those iconic walls … I mean come on!
The collection as is Louis Vuitton is always fun to watch the always have a huge mix of styles. This year it was a bit more obvious with a mix of sportswear and full on fur glam! And definitely what Nicholas Ghesquiere was going for.
Gucci: A couple years ago I wouldn't even be mentioning Gucci among these names, but since the Italian label brought on Alessandro Michelle I am so curious and excited to see what they bring to the game. They have really upped their game when it comes to accessories and even though I did not like their PFW styling (hair/makeup) I was excited to se the collection, and you can definitely tells there's some Oriental inspiration in it.
Dior: Ok so Dior was a bit more controversial than anyone may have expected (second of its kind) and after the 2016 show it doesn’t come as such a shock. Maria Grazia Chiuri may have started a revolution (first by being the first female head of the French label and second with her shows) And although Dior is one of my favorite shows to watch, this time around I wasn’t 100% sold. Although for the most part I loved pieces separately I just didn’t know what to think about the coal miner style denim jumpsuit … but kudos to her for making her mark and standing up this year (we all know it’s been crazy in terms of human right) But then again i'm still dreaming about these dresses!
Chanel: aaah Chanel … saved the best for last. Every single time Chanel puts on a show, that’s what it is a full-on show with Hollywood style production. I may be biased because I’ve been a Chanel groupie since I was a pre-teen! But for me Chanel never compromises its identity and famously classic chic style for exposure, no matter how crazy their shows are the clothes are just as perfect as always! This year’s show is one to watch so please DO! I mean how often do you get to see a space ship take off inside the Petite Palais. Watch the full show here Chanel PFW fall 17
