Go Bright: Why & How to wear Neon this Fall/Winter
Hi again loves! It’s almost the weekend and “winter is coming” say that in a Jon Snow voice please. But one thing that many of us seem to hide during the cold months are bright colors. And slowly our options are all black and browns, which is not a bad thing, Black is always a good idea but personally when the days are just so gloomy I feel wearing a brighter shade just adds a little light to my day. Neon colors made a comeback this season and it’s a must to try, but if you’re not sure how to wear them or just afraid it may be too much; here’s how I do it. Keep it neutral, I’ve worn this sweater dress twice now one over dark jeans, black over the knee boots, and a black cape. And like this, both times I tone down the bright color by pairing it with either dark colors or neutrals (beige boots and teddy coat) And another must have trend during these months are always oversized sweaters, they not only look cool but are just so comfy! It is longer but if you want it 100% as a dress I would size up (I’m wearing an XS and as a dress I think the small would have been best, if you just want a longer sweater (top) stick to your regular size. (Myth: you always have to buy you size. NOT TRUE. Just because you fit in a size small doesn’t mean you always have to wear that size. I like to think of size of guidelines but in the end wear the size that gives you the look you’re going for. I’m usually a XS-S but I regularly buy bigger sizes especially for sweater and coats. P.s sweater comes in pink too, and my boots are 50% off Another of my favorite trends for fall/winter is dark lipstick, and i've been really loving the new Super Lustrous shades from Revlon, this is called Power Move. In other news this whole week has been a lot of organizing and planning, it’s scary to think 2018 is almost over! I’m currently using two planners 2018 for December stuff and already filling my 2019 planner! #TimeFlies Arturo has been away all week on a work trip which has given me a lot of extra time to organize haha. Our tree is finally up and finished after our funny ordeal of going overboard and buying a giant tree (watch our Tree shopping Vlog on my channel here)
Hola hola!! Espero estén bien! Ya casi es el fin de semana y ya se viene el invierno, pero una cosa que a lo mejor no viene a tu closet normalmente en invierno son los colores vivos, yo se que a muchos a veces nos da miedo o nos sentimos raros usando colores vivos o neón como este, durante el otoño invierno, pero en realidad es algo que siempre deberías de incluir. A mucha gente le deprimen los días fríos y oscuros, Y una de las maneras de alegrar un poco esos días (que a mi en lo personal me encantan jaja amo el frío) es usando colores alegres que nos saquen de la rutina del negro y café ... aunque bueno amo el negro y no me canso de usarlo jaja pero también me gusta variar.
El neón llegó de nuevo al mundo de la moda esta temporada y es algo que todas deberíamos de incluir. Ahora si te da miedito salir con colores así, te cuento cómo usarlos para que no se vean tan intensos. Siempre combínalos con colores neutros, beige, azul marino, negro, gris, etc ... ya es un color fuerte entonces hay que dejarlo ser la estrella del look, y aunque el “color blocking” (combinación de colores intensos) es súper padre y popular en primavera/verano es una combinación que hará resaltar todavía más estos tonos vivos. Por eso yo siempre los uso como lo traigo aquí, botas y chamarra clara, o cómo lo use otro día, con jeans, botas negras y una capa/abrigo negra que dejaba ver poco del color dándole el toque perfecto. Otro favorito para esta época son los suéteres “oversized” o largos, deja tu que se ven padrísimos pero son lo más cómodo!!! Este creo que en teoría es un suéter largo pero a mi me gusto como vestido, traigo la talla XS pero se me hace que para vestido más cómodo me hubiera convenido más el Small. Entonces si les gusta como suéter usen su talla normal pero si lo quieren más como vestido les recomiendo irse una talla o dos más arriba. (Mito: siempre tienes que usar tu talla! No es cierto! Las tallas son solo una guía pero no porque te queda la Extra chica siempre tienes que comprar esas. Créanme, en general yo soy talla extra chica o chica pero para muchas cosas como suéteres y chamarras me he comprado mediana o grande. No le hagas caso a la etiqueta y compra la talla que te acomoda más sin importar cuál es! Y cambio de tema, esta semana Arturo ha estado fuera por trabajo y me he puesto en modo de plantación y organización con eso que ya se va acabar el año!
