When my mom used to say "Time flies, enjoy the moment" I would huff and puff and get mad, it usually meant I couldn't do something because I was too young (yeah you know the classic pre-teen and teen tantrums) of course I didn't believe it! I kept thinking I would be 15 forever! (I wish!) but Today! exactly today I can't believe it's been 3 years since I marries my best friend! I know for some 3 years is not that long, but for me it's somewhat shocking! I feel it was no more than 6 months ago! how did this happen! all I can say is Time Flies when you're having fun and happy! Oh and mom was right! life is too short, enjoy every moment!
So in honor of our three year anniversary (and because so many of you have asked us about our big day and I have kept putting it off) here's a little recap of our wedding! Everything you ladies have asked me about this day ... yes that includes everything about my dress! haha best moment ever! (after saying I do of course!)
Date: April 9th 2016
Location: Mexico City
Ceremony: Iglesia de La Profesa (zocalo) official name is Templo de San Felipe Neri
Reception: Ex Convento de San Hipolito (Ex convent, a lot of historic building in Mexico City are now venues and or museums)
Time: Evening
Dress Code: Black Tie (yep sorry guys I know many of you hate wearing a tux but you all look so cute ... hot lol)
Catering: Ituarte Banquetes (Mexico)
Photo and Video: Manuel Valderrama: Make sure you talk to your photographer about what you want or like. If not you'll just get the classic wedding portraits.it also helps to shoot with them before the big day, shower, couple shots or something just to help getting to each other.
Makeup: Victor Guadarrama: Also no matter how amazing the makeup artist is try him/her first, maybe for another event or a shower or something. I did this, Victor did my makeup for a cousins wedding months before and from there he's my go to guy.
Dress: Vera Wang, Octavia Gown
This was one of the moments of most enjoyed of the wedding planning, it was the second dress I tried, I honestly didn't have an emotional moment when I tried it on, I know it was it but at the same time I kinda wanted to buy 5 more dresses! it took 6 months to be made (normal when it comes to wedding dresses. I purchased it at Casa De Novia in Houston, Tx. I highly recommend checking this place out if you're a bride. They have most designer dresses.
Shoes: Manolo Blahnik Hangisi in Gold/Silver: I actually did not buy these shoes because of sex and the city or because it is a go to shoe for many brides. But because I fell in love with the color and finish and because the day I tried them on I just loved how they looked with jeans! I wanted a pair of shoes that I could wear again, I didn't want to have a bridal only pair stored away forever! So I ended up getting these and I have worn them for formal events and just for dinner with friends!
I know you've probably heard this before but don't let your wedding consume you! enjoy the process, so many girls I know didn't even get to enjoy their big day because of all the stress. We are thankful that we had so much fun that day and I wish that on everyone!
And to those going through it and starting to feel like it's too much, take a step back and pin point whats getting to you and remember that it's actually about starting the best next phase in your life next to the love of your life. There's so many pic I would love to post and share here but I don't think my site can take it lol so just sharing a few of my fave and details.
Cuando mi mama te decia "la vida se va volando" y tu nada mas no le creias! pues ahorita si puedo decir que no me la creo que hace tres años me case con el amor de mi vida (ay que cursi!) pero la verdad es que no se en que momento pasaron estos tres años, siento que no han sido mas de 6 meses. Desde hace mucho me habian pedido que les compartiera mas de nuestra boda y yo se los queria compartir, aprovechando nuestro aniversario aqui les comparto los detalles (incluyendo mi vestido) y algunas de mis fotos favoritas!

Foto & Video: Manuel Valderrama : Les recomiendo ser muy claros con el tipo de fotos que quieren y que estilo, si no dicen nada solo les van a tomar lo basico de bodas. Hagan un sesion ya sea de novios o para alguna despedida y conozcanse y expliquen su estilo.
Makeup: Victor Guadarrama: No importa que tan recomendado sea el maquillista trata de probarlo/a antes ya sea para un evento o algo, asi mas o menos platican de lo que te gusta y quieres.
Vestido:
Vera Wang modelo Octavia - Siempre quise un vestido ampon! (de princesa jaja), aun asi me probe un poco de todo, este fue el 3er vestido que me probe! y aunque si me enamore yo amo los vestidos en general y si hubiera podido me compraba otros 5! piensa en ti! no importa si a tu mama o a tu abuela no le encanta, es tu dia! (claro siempre es bueno que les gusta a todas pero varias amigas mias han sufrido con esto)
Zapatos: Manolo Blahnik Hangisi - La verdad no los compre por Sex and The City ni nada asi, el dia que me los probe traia jeans y me encanto como se veian y si iba a comprar unos zapatos y gastar queria poderlos volver a usar en algun momento en lugar de quedar arrumbados por ahi, y si los he usado mucho desde entonces! no tienen que a fuerzas compara zapatos blancos de novia.
Estoy segura que se los han dicho mucho, pero no te dejes consumir por tu boda, si acepto que llega un punto que te estresa de mas todo y que todo salga perfecto, pero a fin de cuentas lo que importa es que disfrutes tu dia. Creeme que hay mil mujeres que ni lo disfrutan por tanto estres. Es bueno tener a alguien de confianza que te ayude pero tambien bueno durante la planeacion dar un paso atras y ver que es lo que esta pasando.
Disfruta tu dia que lo que en realidad importa es que estas empezando la mejor etapa de tu vida a lado de la mejor persona del mundo.
