Fashion Month Highlights

And so fashion month has come to an end, and this time around I thought I would review the highlight (good and bad) from the whole month and 4 cities instead of just one like we usually do. Why? Well as much as Paris is my favorite week I could not ignore what happened in Milan with Gucci or DG. So here we go in chronological order: New York: NYC my darling city! NYFW is usually known for a more ready to wear approach and looks, but I was so happy to see them go over the top this year, like Philipp Plein, who landed a spaceship in Brooklyn (after making it snow) o and had an alien robot walk the runway. And I was completely head over heals with their boho chic vibes from Probal Gurungs (Gigi Hadid’s look ... omg!) also so refreshing to see more and more diversity on he runway, women of different sizes like the gorgeous Ashley graham! Some of the major trends we saw this year were: Animal print, tie dye, workwear inspired, hot (Barbie) pink, and more.

London: LFW is sometimes overlooked since it’s squished in between NYC and Milan, but I think it’s one we can’t forget. Like it is in good brutish fashion, they keep it true to their classics, and London style. But this year it was all so colorful and fresh! So cool to see in a Fall/Winter line.

Milan: this time around I think Milan took first place in jaw dropping shows (not all good though) for example gucci although I love the styles and he new collection itself for me the styling and the show theme was just a bit too much (heads and dragons ... um a bit overboard) and hard to watch. But the Dolce&Gabanna flew in hand bags with drones! Yes actual flying handbags! Just every girl’s dream lol - next Tommy Hilfiger hit the mark for pop show dreams! Not only would I wear every single look but the show was amazingly set!

Tommy Hilfiger

Paris: the city of lights stayed true to its French routs with class and elegance but with an 80s vibe once again!. With a little light show action at YSL. Ellie Saab stunned once again with its dream like designs and Dior for me is quickly becoming my all time favorite house and show to watch! Chanel kept it a bit more simple this time, in terms of the setting, they created a forest like environment, floors covered in leafs very fall like (the collection was fall/winter 2018) , the collection itself as always beautiful and classic but from what they showed they are stepping out of the box and going with color for fall winter! Also Louis Vuitton was breathtaking at the Louvre! Definitely a trend this season is definitely the space/futuristic vibes but mixed with a classic look, like LV did.

2018 trends:

Chunnky Sneaker, 80s vibes, small sunglasses, colorful fall pieces, Boho chic vibes. chunky sweater, statement bags.
